Should I choose IN-DFI or IN-SOS?
It depends on your employer. The Indiana Department of Financial Institutions (IN-DFI) licenses mortgage lenders and servicers, and requires only the 20-hour national SAFE course — no Indiana module. The Indiana Secretary of State (IN-SOS) licenses loan brokers, and its 20-hour requirement must include 2 hours of Indiana law, which you cover with the separate 2-hour IN-SOS module — 22 hours of coursework in total.
