Who regulates MLO licensing in Utah?
This course covers the Utah Department of Financial Institutions (UT-DFI) path, which most Utah mortgage loan originators license under. UT-DFI requires 20 hours of NMLS-approved education with no state-specific course, then you pass the SAFE exam.
What if I'm licensing through UT-DRE instead?
The Utah Division of Real Estate (UT-DRE) is a separate path and requires 25 hours — the 20-hour national course plus 5 hours of UT-DRE specific instruction. RealEstateU does not currently offer that 5-hour DRE course, so this package covers the UT-DFI path only. Check which regulator your employer licenses under before you enrol.
